AD as a Teacher
AD is a highly dedicated music teacher who works hard for his students to deliver the best instruction available. Having taught a number of students how to play and become the drummer or percussionist that they want to be, AD has received acclaim from other teachers and music industry professionals.

Agelis Drums is a drum - percussion teacher that lives and teaches in London, United Kingdom.
Born in 1980 in Thessaloniki, Greece, he started his studies at a professional music school at the age of five. After he finishes the Preparatory Music Program, AD attended classic piano lessons.
When AD was in the age of 14 he started learning the drums at "D. Agostini" music school up to grade 5 with the international proffesor Takis Barbas and Nikos Foudoukidis. Graduated with distinction in 2001 from the classes of drums and music technology. He also received Certificate in Graded Examination in Music Performance (Grade 8) from London College of Music (L.C.M.).
"Fillipos Nakas" music College, "Modern Concervatoire" music school, Thessaloniki.
Two years later he received a Diploma on Byzantine music.
AD has also participated in traditional percussion, music theory seminars and master classes by internationally famous Misirli Ahmet, Lassaad Hosni, Bijan Chemirani, Vaggelis Karypis, Lahoucine Baqir, Ali El Khatib, Yasser Moawad, Ziya Tabassian, Mahmud Wartani, Safa Gharid, in an international percussion meeting, within the framework of the European Program “Medi Muses”, about Mediterranean rhythms and percussion instruments, also Music Pedagogy seminars in the Foundation for the Disabled with P.Crammer.
AD started teaching the drums at the age of 18 in his hometown while he was student.In 2000 he joined "Odeio Stefanidou" music school for Private tutoring of children and adults on drums and percussions. Next two years AD Formed 3 percussion groups of 5-member, 4-member and 3-member of adults for traditional percussion instruments.
In 2008 AD became Co-ordinator along with a panel of psychologists of six music therapy groups of ten persons for adults and children in Municipality of Kalamaria in the framework of the “parenting schools" for four years. In 2012 made the decision to relocate to London.
Recently he joined the "London drum school" and various agencies for privet tuition.
AD as a musician/session drummer
During his formative years, AD was highly influenced by the 90's grunge/alternative scene and 70's rock scene. AD's first big drum sources of inspiration were drummers like ,Dave Grohl, Jimmy Chamberlin, Matt Cameron, Bill Ward, John Bonham, Nick Maison and Barriemore Barlow.
After successfully graduating from high-school in 1998, AD joins the army. Passing the test with a perfect score allowed AD to serve his country with a pair of drumsticks instead of a gun. AD's tenure with the Army Band ended in 2000, enabling him to pursue a career in drum lessons, session drumming and songwriting.
AD began experimenting with the piano and writing music pieces. He formed "Return To Litany" who drew on the sounds of "Arcana", "Lisa Gerrard", "Zbignew Prisner", "Sopor Aeternus", "Philip Glass", "Max Richter".
At this time AD was also becoming more interested in byzantine music and traditional eastern music and percussion. He used to play in the same percussion band with his teacher N. Foudoukidis.
AD’s drumming aspirations became real serious at the age of fifteen where he and Alex Blake (Skygrounder) form their first band . Drumming was so much fun for him and gave him such joy that he decided to pursue it.
Two years later, AD played his first gigs with "Heaven" in local venues and had the first recording experience .Highlights of T.V. performances were the "HEAVEN" live on the program "Jammin" (ET3).
In 2008 he formed two new projects.One project using traditional instruments such as nei , bendir , darbuka, req, kemence , saz and byzantine vocals and a student percussion group.
During 2011-2012 Return To Litany recorded the atmospheric album
"Mind Out" just before the end of the band and the rise of the
"Skygrounder", AD's main band now.
In 2013-2014 Skygrounder recorded their debut album "Born To Fight" and
has worked with John Cornfield (Muse,Oasis,Verve,Supergrass,Stone Roses) and
Paul Corkett (Placebo,Cure,Bjork,Nick Cave). AD recorded the first full album by
the band "Variety Klubb" and demos by the bands : "Hitlist" function band,
"Fortline", "Standard bearers". AD has established himself as a skilled drummer
maintaining an exceptional standard in recording and performing.
